Me & work
Even since I was a kid, I’ve always been looking for the ‘why’ of things. Not only to truly understand the nature of an action, need or event, but to actually try to understand human nature. Why do we do what we do? Why do we want what we want? Human behaviour never ceases to fascinate me.
I am a curious person, and interested in many different fields and perspectives. As a result, I have gained experience in the field of conflict resolution, coaching, design, history, teaching, facilitation, service design, marketing and product management. I never stop learning, and would never want to feel like I have nothing to improve 🙂 However, all these different experiences have taught me where my interests lie and what I am good at:
- I love coaching and managing colleagues, interns and teams. I am sensitive to the mood in a team, and always look for ways to create a positive vibe in which everyone can shine and learn;
- Solving the right problem, before solving the problem right. This means: getting to the core of a challenge or pain point, to make sure the product or solution actually answers the user’s needs;
- Create shared understanding between different stakeholders and perspectives, i.e. technology and user, client and team, company and product;
- Set up & manage a project from challenge/concept to implementation;
- Structure complex processes between stakeholders & teams by facilitating workshops and sessions, defining what needs to be done, and clarifying for everyone involved which action to take or decision to make.
Me outside of work
I am adventurous and like to try new things. Traveling is in my blood, preferable with little or no plan. If I haven’t been on the road for too long I get restless. I love to be outdoors, especially in the mountains. I climb, boulder, hike and ski, and love camping in the middle of nowhere! However, I also love a good roadtrip now and then, full of unexpected experiences and sights, and maybe a bit of partying or a festival here and there 🙂
However, what make life worthwhile are the people you share it with. Friends, family, colleagues and other loved ones make every game more fun, and every hurt less painful.
